Until about 10 years ago, I suffered on and off with depression and anxiety. I didn’t really enjoy life, I wasn’t achieving much – just coasting along – and I certainly didn’t feel I was ‘living life to the full’. I eventually hit crisis point.
After completing a course of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), which helped a lot, I wanted to reduce my chances of suffering from mental health problems again, and to start living my ‘best life’.
I began reading books, watching videos and listening to podcasts; all about mental wellbeing and creating a fantastic life, as well as attending:
- Personal Resilience training
- Unleash the Power Within – Tony Robbins’ infamous 4-day event
- The Science of Wellbeing – with Yale University
- Law of Attraction Manifesting course
- Life Mastery course
- Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA)
- Life coaching course – including NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)
And my journey never ends! I love personal development and I’m always learning more about myself, about mental health and wellbeing, psychology, what makes people happier, and the world around us.
As a result, I have the skills and knowledge to make my life the best it can be; from my physical and mental health, to figuring out what I want and how to achieve it, to having an exceptional relationship and creating as much fun and adventure as I can with family and friends.
